30th Annual Athens Thanksgiving Turkey Trot benefiting Hope Springs Water
About the race
Kick off your Thanksgiving morning with family, friends, and neighbors at the Athens Annual Turkey Trot. This year's 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will take place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026.
This year we are adding a new event: the Kids and Pets Obstacle Course. It is a 100 yard run through pool noodles and hula hoops. Kids 10 and under can run with or without a pet. Pets must be on a leash. No elephants or giraffes! Turtles don't need a leash!
All proceeds from the event benefit Hope Springs Water, a nonprofit based in Athens, TX, dedicated to providing safe water, improved sanitation, and hygiene education to those in need. Every step you take helps bring clean water to communities around the world.
