The Athens Ducks Unlimited Chapter is bringing back the Quack Attack 5K and Family Fun Run, presented by Redefined Fitness, benefiting the conservation, protection, and management of Athens and Limestone County wetlands.
This year the event adds a 10K distance and the first ever Quack Attack Lift-off hybrid competition, sponsored by CrossFit Athens.
Ducks Unlimited (DU) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1937, dedicated to the conservation of wetlands and associated upland habitats for waterfowl, other wildlife, and people.
It is recognized as the world's leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation, having restored tens of millions of acres across North America. Ducks Unlimited aims to ensure that there are sufficient wetlands to support waterfowl populations today and in the future.
Medals go to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place female and male finishers in each 10-year age group, the top overall female and male runners, and the top overall Masters (40+) and Grandmasters (60+) divisions. Every runner receives a participation prize.
There is plenty of nearby parking at no cost. The course has some small hills, none steeper than a 6-8% grade.

The Quack Attack Lift-off, sponsored by CrossFit Athens, combines endurance and strength into a hybrid athlete event. Participants start with the Quack Attack 5K/10K racers, and upon crossing the finish line the challenge begins. Lift-off athletes then compete in two strength challenges, Bench Press and Clean.
Each athlete has 3 attempts to establish their one-rep max in each lift and may increase or decrease the weight between attempts. The heaviest successful lifts count toward the athlete's Strength score, ranked 1st, 2nd, and so on, and are combined with their 5K race position as the Speed score.
The athlete with the lowest combined score is crowned Quack Attack Lift-off Champion. If two or more athletes finish with the same overall score, ties are broken by highest strength total across the two lifts.
If you register before the shirt deadline, your exclusive race tee in the size you order is guaranteed. After 10/28, shirts are available in the listed sizes on a first register, first reserve basis.
Walkers are welcome. Groups running together only need each member's full name to register. Only runners, joggers, walkers, baby strollers/joggers, restrained pets and wheelchairs are allowed.
Well-socialized, leashed dogs are welcome at the back of the pack. Strollers are welcome at the back of the pack; if you are running for a competitive time, tell us on race day morning so we can add an offset to your start time.
Athletes can cancel their registration, but no refund is given.
Refunds are not allowed for this race.
