Experience 5150 Kraichgau: a 1.5 km lake swim in the Hardtsee, a 40 km hilly bike ride through the Land of 1000 Hills, and a 10 km rolling run amid scenic landscapes.
Known as the land of 1,000 hills, the Kraichgau region offers beautiful scenery, a challenging course, and a deep triathlon culture. The landscape's constantly changing scenery from woodlands to vineyards and orchards creates a peaceful contrast to the thousands of spectators along the course at this energetic race.
The transition is located on a parking area next to the swim exit of the lake Hardtsee. When you leave the water, run approximately 100m to transition area 1 and enter it. Immediately after entering the transition area, take your blue Bike bag with your bike equipment from the bag rack and complete the transition. Benches and designated changing tents are available.
Nudity is not permitted in the transition area and will result in a penalty. Once changed, pack your wetsuit and swimming equipment back into the blue bag and hang the bag back in the correct place on the rack.
Only cycling shoes (clicked in) and bottles in holders are permitted on the bike. Your helmet's chin strap must be firmly fastened before removing the bike from the rack, and must remain fastened whenever in contact with the bike. Do not mount your bike until you cross the mount line at the exit of the transition area.
Facilities and Services: Toilets, changing tents, benches, bike mechanic, bike pumps, lost chip service, spare transition bags.
Dismount your bike before the dismount line before entering the transition area at the end of the bike course. Put your bike in its place in the transition area (separate areas exist for IRONMAN 70.3 and 5150 participants). Take your red bag with running equipment from the rack and complete the transition.
Pack your cycling equipment, including your helmet, back into the red bag. Cycling shoes must either remain on the bike pedals or be packed in the red bag. Re-hang the bag in its place. At the entrance to transition area 2 is penalty box no. 2, which is part of the bike course and must be visited if necessary.
Facilities and Services: Toilets, changing tents, benches, bike mechanic, bike pumps, lost chip.
