I have found so much joy in running this little 2 mile loop along the banks of the Chattahoochee River! I host an event at this location in the spring but I really wanted to run 100 miles out here.
In year 1 of the event we saw several 100 mile finishes, several distance PRs, and a world record tying finish of 50 100 mile finishes in a year. Year 2 was a blast where we met tons of new friends and saw some amazing people push their limits. It was an exciting time and we can't wait to see what year 3 brings!
The race is run on a 2 mile loop along the banks of the Chattahoochee River. The event is 34 hours long. Proceeds aid the Valley holiday carousel tradition, which is free for children and carried on largely through donations from local businesses.
Valley is a city in Chambers County, Alabama, on the western bank of the Chattahoochee River, which forms the state border with Georgia. It was incorporated in 1980 from four former textile mill villages. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and mild winters, so spring and autumn are the best seasons to race.
