Welcome to the first Official Girl Scout Island Ultramarathon! We are all here to support, inspire, and empower athletes of all ages to find their potential.
The race will be held at the exclusive Rose Dhu Island, home of Camp Low, located in Savannah, GA. For the first time ever, Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia is inviting you to run this beautiful island in support.
Proceeds from this race will support the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia and Camp Low.
Camping is available through the Girl Scouts for a small fee. Cabins, perches and elevated platforms for tents, with showers and bathrooms, are available for rent for the weekend. Reservations are first come, first serve. The price includes Friday check-in to Sunday checkout. You must leave the rental as you entered it. Leave no trace.
Cabins are currently sold out. We will announce if a cabin becomes available.
No RVs are allowed on the island.
There are very mischievous raccoons on the island. Please pack all food in a container that seals securely.
There are 2 aid stations. The same usual suspects will be available. We cater to dietary needs, but you must make the race director aware. For strict allergies, please provide your own food. We do not promise there will be no cross-contamination.
100% Girl Scout cookies will be available at the aid stations. Aid station 2 offers water, electrolytes, cold snacks and salt tabs. During night hours, snacks will be in a protected container that must remain sealed.
This is a cupless race. Water and hydration will be available. We use GU Roctane hydration drink mix.
Event weekend: 11/20/26 to 11/22/26. Race time cap: 32 hours for all distances.
All races start on 11/21/26; the Feathers 10k, 50k, 100k and 100 mile start at 8am.
The Feathers 10k is named after an iconic woman in the running community, Ms. Sherry Feathers. Ms.
Sherry inspires, volunteers, and advocates for many local organizations in the Savannah area, including Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia. She will claim that her husband, Reggie, helped instill the act of giving to the community, which she continues to advocate for, and she has passed it to her family as they embrace and continue the Feathers legacy.
You will be driving through a very small, quiet neighborhood to get to the island. You MUST follow speed laws and be aware of pedestrians. The bridge to the island is one lane. Volunteers will help guide you. Those coming in have the right of way.
Address: Rose Dhu Island Drive, Savannah, GA 31419. Type this into your GPS and keep going until you get there. Signage and volunteers will direct you.
Dinner menu: pasta, marinara, chicken or beef meatballs, garlic bread, salad, campfire s’mores, and lemonade or tea (see store).
Gluten-free and vegan options will be available. We cannot 100% promise there will be no cross-contamination.
Absolutely no refunds, deferrals or transfers within 3 months of the race. Deferrals are allowed up to 3 months before the race. 80% refund insurance is available through Spot Insurance on UltraSignup.
The course is a 6.25 mile trail loop. It is non technical and flat, with occasional roots. The course winds through the cabins and perches, so personal aid is easily accessible to those renting. The event is chip timed, and runners must pass over the timing mat with a timing chip each lap.
Put together a team of 2 to 5 runners and work together to complete a 50k. One person from the team completes a 10k at a time. When that runner comes in, the next person from the team completes the next 10k, until the team has completed a total of 50k.
On the last 10k of the 50k, all team members may run together if they wish to complete this challenge together.
Savannah is a city and the county seat of Chatham County, Georgia, founded in 1733 on the Savannah River. It is the oldest city in the state, a former colonial capital, and an important Atlantic seaport known for its cobblestone streets and historic buildings. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers, so spring and autumn are the best seasons to race.
