Sharing much of the Rim to River 100 course, the Cabin Fever 50K can be the perfect training run while also providing a whole new winter trail running experience. It is the original winter ultra in New River Gorge National Park.
Proceeds from the race help fund Adventure Appalachia, our non-profit organization working to facilitate empowering, educational outdoor adventure experiences for adolescents and adults. We strive to eliminate barriers and expand access to outdoor adventure in the New River Gorge region of WV, providing funding and connecting people to existing outdoor programs offering guided experiences in wilderness settings.
Participants have 10 hours to complete the course, with 3 fully stocked aid stations and 1 hydration station along the way. All finishers within the allotted time receive a custom Cabin Fever 50K finisher medal. Awards and prizes go to the Top 10 male and female finishers.

New River Gorge National Park and Preserve is a United States national park in southern West Virginia, within the Appalachian Mountains. It stretches for 53 miles from near Hinton to Hawks Nest State Park and is known for whitewater rafting and climbing. The climate is humid with warm summers and cold winters, so late spring and early autumn are the best seasons to race.
