We wanted to create a premier event that would bring runners from all over together to enjoy miles in NE Florida. We allowed ample time for runners to reach their goals, whether it is their first ultra, their first 100-mile buckle, or more miles than they have ever run before.
Join us in Middleburg, FL (just outside of Jax) at the Clay County Regional Sports Complex for the 2nd Annual SURF, a weekend of running, vendors, and other fun. Valentine's giveaways and a Presidents Day theme are also planned.
Our inaugural event was a smash, and participants really enjoyed the course and the all night/day food availability.
We will have custom technical shirts. To be guaranteed a shirt, you must be registered by 1/23.
Foot care will be led by the "Footcare Gal" Tonya K Olson, DPT. She is widely regarded as the foot care expert in the ultramarathon community, leads the foot care team for the Western States Endurance Run 100, and co-authored the book "Fixing Your Feet."
The following was the medical staff for 2025. We are in discussions now for 2026.
Medical personnel will be on site for the full 48 hours, led by Laurel Goff. She is a runner with over 20 years of experience in emergency medicine and has led medical teams at many races in the Jax area. She is the only board certified Clinical Sports Specialist in Clay County.
Race Director Mike Martinez has been a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for 33 years and can also assist runners in need if necessary.
There will be a runner's village for canopies, tents, and crews. Runners may also crew out of their vehicle.
RVs are welcome, but there are no RV hookups. The RV fee is $15, payable at the race site in cash, Venmo or PayPal.
The race venue opens Friday at 9 am for 48 hour runners and 48 hour relay teams, including those setting up tents or canopies or claiming a spot for self crewing. Other distances may come after 2 pm and set up their crewing area after the 48 hour event starts.
Just because something is not covered in the guide does not mean it is allowed. If you have questions, please reach out to the race director (RD).
We are not responsible for tents or canopies damaged by weather or other causes, so please secure them as well as possible.
Middleburg is an unincorporated community in Clay County, Florida, about 26 miles southwest of Jacksonville. Summers are hot and humid with frequent afternoon storms, so early spring and late autumn are the best seasons to race.
