CROWBAR (Cache Regional Overland Winter BAckcountry Race) is a backcountry ski mountaineering (SkiMo) race held entirely outside of ski area boundaries near the summit of Logan Canyon, Utah.
Started by a group of pioneering backcountry skiers in 2008, before SkiMo was really even a thing, the race continues that tradition into 2027.
The course features big climbs and fun descents on ridges, forested slopes, and open glades, while avoiding avalanche terrain, with spectacular views of the Bear River Range and Bear Lake.
The race will be held at the Swan Flat TH/Garden City venue.
This year's race will have Race and Tour Divisions for both the Long and Short Courses. Masters 50 and up may register for the Long Course Race. The Short Course Race is for Juniors only (under 18).
The combined ski/binding weight cutoff for the Long Course Tour is 1,450g (51 oz) per ski. If your setup is above this weight, you must register for the Long Course Race division.
Long Course participants need a Via Ferrata kit. An improvised kit is allowed:

Logan is a city in Cache County, Utah, and the county seat, with 52,778 residents at the 2020 census. It is the principal city of a metropolitan area that includes Franklin County, Idaho, and it has the main campus of Utah State University. Summers are warm and dry and winters are cold with snow, so late spring and early autumn are the best seasons to race.
