Recover From The Holidays is an old-fashioned, budget-friendly 50K run held each year on New Year's Eve.
Don't let the low-key nature of this race fool you; it's no cake walk. It keeps the old race hill that was once part of the original RFH course.
This race is the final event of the calendar year for the Huntsville Track Club and a great way to wrap up your ultrarunning season.
There is a limited aid station with water, soda, chips, and cookies.
You may set up your own personal aid station (camp chairs, tables, etc.) every 3.1 miles at the start of a new loop.
Runners who complete the 10 laps within the cut-off time receive a Santa-sanctioned hoodie.
The overall male and female winners receive a prize hand-picked by Santa himself.
The race starts at 7 AM and has a 9-hour cut-off.
Packet pickup is at the race venue starting at 6:00 AM, before the race begins.
Runners complete 10 repeats of a 3.1-mile loop over rolling cross-country grass trails. Each loop includes two big hill climbs.
Huntsville is the most populous city in Alabama and the county seat of Madison County, located in the Appalachian region of northern Alabama just south of Tennessee. It was founded within the Mississippi Territory in 1805 and had 215,006 residents at the 2020 census. Summers are hot and humid with cool, wet winters, so spring and autumn offer the most comfortable racing conditions.
