Along the pine-lined shores of Quemahoning Reservoir, the On the Dam Trail Race blends beauty, grit, and grassroots spirit. The name Quemahoning comes from a Delaware Native American phrase meaning “a lick in the pines”.
The event gives runners a half dozen ways to take it on, with the signature 50K tackling two full loops around the reservoir and dam. Go solo or recruit your trail crew and conquer it as a relay team of two or four.
Race proceeds help local children attend Camp Harmony church camps, while also supporting the Johnstown Running Club’s grassroots mission to grow running and outdoor recreation throughout the region.
Well-stocked aid stations and relay exchange points keep runners fueled and supported along the way.
Camp Harmony hosts a post-race bonfire and campfire-style feast, giving runners the chance to relax, swap stories, and celebrate the day’s effort under the trees.
Race day check-in begins 7:00 AM, with the start at 8:00 AM.
All races begin at Camp Harmony, a serene woodland retreat that serves as race headquarters, packet pickup, and the start/finish celebration zone.
Stay onsite Friday night with tent camping or rustic cabins just 100 yards from the start line. Onsite shower facilities are available afterward.
For questions regarding overnight accommodations, contact Camp Harmony via email [email protected] or call 814-798-5885.
For race questions, please contact the race director via email [email protected]
Refunds will not be given after January 1st, 2027. Bib race transfers will be allowed until race day.
The course runs through pine forest around Quemahoning Reservoir and the dam, with rolling hills, shaded valleys, rocky stretches and a few stream crossings. The 50K is two full laps around the reservoir and dam. Relay exchange points are placed along the course.
