On November 21st you will have a chance to see what you are made of, physically and mentally. This is the 8th running of the Stuffed Turkey Endurance Races @ Jester Park, Granger, Iowa.
The 50K, 50 Mile, and 100 Mile distances will be UTMB index races. The course is 100% trail with small rolling hills and a good stretch of flat, which could be fast or extremely tough depending on the weather (it is Iowa).
We will not supply paper cups at aid stations, as part of helping to keep the park clean. Bring your own cups, running bottles, or packs for filling at aid stations.
Aid stations will be fully stocked, but bring your own personal nutrition if you need it. We keep it very good but very basic: pizza, pop, rice and beans, potatoes, Gatorade, GU, and more.
Packet pickup is Thursday before the race at Fleet Feet Des Moines, 521 E Locust St, Des Moines, IA 50309. You can also pick up your packet before your race.
To guarantee a shirt, sign up by Nov. 1, 2022. Orders for shirts, finishers medals, and other swag close on Nov. 1, and there is no guarantee of shirts and swag after that date. We order a few extra in each size, but entries after Nov. 1 are not guaranteed a shirt.
Day-of-race entries are NOT accepted.
Those in the 100 miler can pick up a pacer at the start of the 6th lap, mile 50. You can use multiple pacers, but each must complete one 10-mile loop with you.
You may not run with dogs, bicycle pacers, or other non-human assists, except for those with physical or mental handicaps, which will be approved case by case.
The course is 100% trail with small rolling hills and a good stretch of flat. Each loop has 455 feet of elevation gain, for a total of 4,550 feet of ascent and descent over 100 miles. Aid stations are at mile 5 and mile 10, plus the start/finish area. The start is at Jester Park Equestrian Center, Jester Park, Granger, Iowa.
Granger is a city in Dallas and Polk counties in Iowa, USA, and part of the Des Moines-West Des Moines metropolitan area. It had 1,654 residents at the 2020 census. The continental climate brings hot, humid summers and cold winters, so spring and autumn are the best seasons to race.
