About the race
Froggy Mountain boasts one of the most challenging courses on the east coast, with 500 feet of vertical gain per 1 mile loop. We are home of the Froggy Mountain 50/100.
This year we are introducing a shorter distance race: the sweet-baby-ultra 50k, which you will have 16 hours to complete.
Cool-as-heck vibe, runners and course, as well as our famous croaking frogs, near the beautiful Southern Virginia mountain town of Galax.
Camping and where to stay
We offer free camping for you and your crew/family.
We have free car or tent camping here at Froggy Mountain, and 2 rooms for rent in our Airbnb with a shared kitchen for $60 a night. Otherwise, there are a few hotels available in nearby Galax.
The course
The course is a 1 mile loop with 500 feet of vertical gain per loop. A fully stocked aid station is set up every mile with hot meals.

It is bounded to the northeast by Carroll County and to the southwest by Grayson County. The climate is humid with warm summers and cool winters, so spring and autumn are the best seasons to race.
