Trade your winter blues for Caribbean hues at the St. Croix Scenic 50, one of the few ultramarathons in the entire Caribbean.
Taking place every January on the breathtaking island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, this race is more than just miles, it is a full-sensory island experience.
The course is a figure-eight loop starting and finishing at Cane Bay beach. Runners begin with a sunrise along the north shore, then wind through lush jungle canopies, jeep roads, and rolling hills toward the island's rugged west end. The route is about 25% paved road, 25% singletrack, and 50% jeep trail. The infamous Crusher Hill pulls runners back into the forest before one last descent down The Beast.
The finish line is framed by palm trees and surf, with a beachside party to celebrate the finish.
St. Croix is an island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, in the Caribbean. The climate is tropical, warm year-round with trade winds, so the drier, cooler months from December to April are the best time to race.
