Davao City is the largest city on Mindanao, close to Mount Apo, the country's highest peak, known for its durian and its large green spaces, and for being outside the main typhoon belt. The climate is tropical: it is warm and humid all year, with a drier period from about January to April and rain through the rest of the year. The drier months are the best for racing, with early starts. The sea is warm for swimming. Francisco Bangoy International Airport serves the city.

The personal need bag allows you to bring your own food, which you will have access to on the bike and run part. It is forbidden to take the bag on the bike; you will have to stop and take what’s in the bag only. If the athlete wants to have the personal needs bag (bike and/or run), it is the athlete’s responsibility to pick up the “personal needs bag”. The “personal needs bags” check-in for bike and run legs can take place the day before the race within the bike, or it can be during the race day morning before the swim start, check the athlete guide to confirm this information. We advise athletes to only place food and drinks in their bags, since BAGS WILL BE THROWN AWAY AFTER THE RACE. The Organization Committee is not responsible in case of loss or damage to valuables or clothes.
Wetsuits are permitted if the water temperature is up to (and including) 76.1 degrees Fahrenheit (24.5 degrees Celsius) or colder. Wetsuits cannot measure more than 5 mm thick.
