History of the event
Priscilla Sanchez Garcia created this annual event to honor the memory of her father, Samuel Sanchez, and his altruistic nature. As a celebration of his life and in efforts to continue his mission of supporting Veterans, we continue to run and walk for a cause. Samuel Sanchez, a Marine Corp Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient, passed away on Father's Day 2022.
The story of Priscilla's father has not only inspired her but also touched the hearts of many. Her dedication to memorializing her father's legacy and commitment to charity lives on. This year, she decided to pass the torch and entrust this event to Homes for the Brave, an organization that has supported the 5k since its beginning and is instilled with the same values as her father.
