The Horace Mann PTA is hosting its 6th annual Great Turkey Chase 5K and Fun Run. It is one of the few opportunities during the school year for families, teachers, and neighbors to come together as a community and celebrate our school and faculty.
Over 75% of the PTA's fundraising dollars go towards the salaries of many of our partner teachers and specialists, funds that are not provided by DCPS. The PTA also supports educational programs like gardening and language, professional development, classroom enrichment, and facility enhancements.
Students can seek donations from friends and extended family for a chance to win a Pajama Day and Pizza Party. During registration, runners can add a donation for the grade competition. Mention the name and grade of the student you are donating on behalf of, so they get credit.
Starting time is November 15th at 9:30AM (5K) and 9:40AM (1 Mile) from the Mann parking lot. The runs are not on a closed course, so keep to the sidewalks and use caution while running through the neighborhood.
Athletes can cancel their registration, but no refund is given.
Refunds are not allowed for this race.
Washington, D.C., officially the District of Columbia, is the capital city of the United States and its only federal district. It stands on the northeast bank of the Potomac River, across from Virginia and surrounded by Maryland to the north, east, and south. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and cool winters, so spring and autumn are the best seasons to race.
