Patagonia is excited to announce the 30th Annual Salmon Run, to be held November 15, 2026. This year, proceeds will support Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, a local environmental nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring the Santa Barbara Channel and its watersheds.
For over 25 years, Channelkeeper has worked to ensure clean water, healthy habitats, and thriving communities from Point Conception to the Ventura River, from the Santa Ynez Mountains to the Northern Channel Islands. Through science-based advocacy, education, fieldwork, enforcement, and community engagement, Channelkeeper defends our community's right to clean water and informs, inspires, and empowers people to speak and act for our waterways.
Channelkeeper leads water quality monitoring, marine protected area stewardship, pollution prevention, and watershed advocacy initiatives. Through hands-on volunteer programs, public outreach, and collaborative policy solutions, it engages the community as active stewards of our coast and waterways.
Channelkeeper has taken a lead role in protecting the region from the impacts of offshore oil drilling through strategic advocacy and legal action, including challenging the restart of Sable's oil development operations along the Gaviota Coast. It is also working to safeguard public trust resources in the Ventura River watershed, advancing solutions that protect water flows for wildlife and communities.
The Salmon Run is a Zero-Waste Event, meant to avoid sending anything to the waste stream that doesn't have to be. Details on how to prepare will be sent closer to race day, but plan to bring your own water bottle and coffee mug.
Packet pickup begins at 6:30 AM on Sunday, November 15.
There will not be day-of registration. All participants must register online, which closes at noon on Monday, November 10, or when the race sells out.
Athletes can cancel their registration, but no refund is given.
Refunds are not allowed for this race.
