About the race
Run for Outreach is the 14th Annual Tryon Half Marathon and Fall for the Foothills 5K, held on the grounds of Tryon International.
A redesigned half marathon and 5K keep a 14-year community tradition going strong. After losing our original venue to Hurricane Helene, we are bringing the race back to Tryon International, our second year at this location.
This redesigned course is meant to be both fun and rewarding. You can push your pace or simply enjoy the experience, and you will cross the finish line feeling proud, with a chance to earn a handcrafted clay medal.
This race is about more than miles: it is about community, energy and showing up together.

8:00 AM. 13.1 miles on the redesigned course at Tryon International. Includes a T-shirt.
Fall for the Foothills 5K
8:00 AM. 3.1 miles starting alongside the half marathon. Includes a T-shirt.
Registration ends November 14, 2026 at 7:30 AM.

The course
Both races start together at 8:00 AM on a redesigned course on the grounds of Tryon International. The course is built to be both fun and rewarding.

City insight: Tryon
Tryon is a town in Polk County on the southwestern border of North Carolina, set in the escarpment of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a center for outdoor pursuits, equestrian activity, and fine arts. The climate is mild, with warm summers and cool winters, so spring and autumn are the best seasons to race.
