Tarzana is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California, built on the site of a former ranch owned by author Edgar Rice Burroughs. The neighborhood is named after Burroughs' fictional jungle hero, Tarzan. The climate is Mediterranean, with dry, hot summers and mild winters, so autumn, winter, and spring are the best seasons to race, avoiding midday summer heat.
