Tallahassee is the capital of Florida and the county seat of Leon County, and it became the capital in 1824. The city is a college town, home to Florida State University, Florida A&M University and Tallahassee State College. Summers are hot and humid with frequent thunderstorms, so the cooler months of autumn and spring are the best seasons to race.
