San Jose is the most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California, and the county seat of Santa Clara County. It sits in the Santa Clara Valley on the southern shore of San Francisco Bay and was founded in 1777 as the first city in the Californias. The climate is Mediterranean, with dry, mild summers and cool, wet winters, so spring and autumn are the best seasons to race.
