18th Annual Gobbler Gallop Trail Run/Walk 1 Mile
About the race
A fun Thanksgiving morning race that has become a family tradition for families in the Saginaw Valley Area.
The 5K course is a single loop on a beautiful, wooded trail along the scenic Tittabawassee River. The 1 Mile Youth Run is a single loop in the back of the park.
All proceeds benefit the Hawks Running Club LLC, supporting the youth running movement in the Saginaw Township Area.

Entry fees
Online registration
- $5 per participant until 10/31
- $10 per participant 11/1 through 11/21
- $20 per participant 11/22 through 11/25
Race day registration takes place from 8:00 to 9:00 am at the pavilion at the back of the park and costs $20 per participant.
Race shirts can be added to any registration for an extra $10. Shirts are not guaranteed after 11/1. This year's shirts are long sleeve moisture wicking shirts.
All entry fees are nonrefundable.
Bib and shirt pickup
Pre-race bib and shirt pickup is on 11/25 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Saginaw Runners Athletic Company Store, 4605 Bay Rd., Saginaw, MI 48604.
Race day schedule
- Race day registration and bib pickup begins at 8:00 am
- 1 Mile youth (K-8th) trail run at 9:00 am
- 5K trail run and walk at about 9:20 am
Awards
No frills and no age group awards, but the course is accurately measured and the race is timed with results. Custom finisher medals go to the top 5 finishers per gender in each race.
The individual male and female winners of the 5K Run, 5K Walk and 1 Mile Run each receive either a pumpkin or an apple pie.
Costumes
Come dressed in Thanksgiving costume for extra fun. Rumor has it there will be at least one big turkey.
