Location
City insight: Placerville
Placerville is a city and the county seat of El Dorado County in California, part of the Sacramento metropolitan area. Its name comes from placer mining, the method that shaped its early development, and it had 10,747 residents at the 2020 census. The Sierra foothills have hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters, so spring and autumn are the best seasons to race.
