Celebrate Veterans Day with our annual Freedom Run. Join our 5K, 10K, or Half-Marathon, whether you are running for a personal best or walking with friends and family, in gratitude for the Veterans who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom.
You can raise funds for a charity of choice (optional). 100% of the net funds raised will go towards your cause of choice.
We keep things small, personal, and local, so every run feels less like a number and more like a memory. Whether it's a 5K, 10K, half-marathon, or virtual run, you'll get the warmth of a hometown event.
All paces and ages are welcome (under 18 with a guardian). Run it, walk it, however you like. There's no gear, no setup, no fuss, just you, the course, and our coordinators cheering you on in a relaxed setting.
Optional. Track your own time via Strava, RunKeeper, Nike Run, or similar, then submit it through our online form to get posted. Or ask a coordinator to help time you.
No timing chips. This is about progress, not pressure.
Skip it. Your swag ships straight to your door. Double-check your full US mailing address, including apartment number, when you register, as your shirt is sent to this address. Race bibs are handed out on race day.
Your shirt will arrive at your mailing address the week of your race.
Shipping may not catch up in time, so your shirt could arrive after race day. Wear whatever you like and come run with us anyway.
We will send final participant info by the Wednesday before race day, with all the details and course maps.
Once you've registered, use your confirmation number to reserve a wave.
Spots sell out fast. We close each wave the moment it fills. Once a wave sells out, you can take the virtual run option or join the waitlist. Each wave has a capped field.
Running late? Jump in when you arrive. Our coordinators stay on-site for 3 hours after the first wave. Times may change depending on the season, so please check your participant info email.
Prefer to run on your own time? Our virtual run includes a digital training pack to keep you on track. Run it whenever and wherever, with any tracking device you like (optional), then send your results to [email protected] to claim your medal.
Athletes can cancel their registration, but no refund is given.
Refunds are not allowed for this race.
On New York Harbor at the southern tip of New York State, New York City is the most populous city in the United States. It is made up of five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. The climate is humid continental, with hot, humid summers and cold winters, so spring and autumn are the best seasons to race.
