Rider Rattler 4-Miler & 8-Miler
About the race
The Rider Rattler for 2027 brings back all the things you love about the event, with a few changes too. Course changes will make the 4-miler come in with over 800 ft of elevation, while the 8-miler tops out at 1,400 ft.
As in the past, we will have awards for the top 3 male and female finishers for both the 4- and 8-miler. New for 2027, there are special awards for the top male and female finishers in the 14 & under and 60+ categories for both distances.
You can expect a great post-race meal and Rider Rattler swag with your entry.
Rocksylvania Trail Series
Both distances will be added to the qualifying races of the Rocksylvania Trail Series for 2027.
About Rider Park
Rider Park was a gift of the late Thomas J. Rider, who wanted to share his love of outdoor recreation with the community.
A businessman and civic leader, Mr. Rider believed strongly in a life of community service. The park is a fitting tribute to a man who balanced work with volunteerism and recreation.
The park is owned and operated by First Community Foundation Partnership. It is private land made available for public enjoyment.
Kids 14 and under
Kids 14 and under, as of race day, can register at half the regular registration fee.
- If you have an account, your child needs either their own account or must register as a guest.
- Do not log in to your account to register a child, as a logged-in account can only register the person assigned to it.
Cancellation policy
Athletes can cancel their registration, but no refund is given.
No refunds, deferrals, or bib transfers. Rain or shine (or snow!) event.

Location
City insight: Montoursville
Montoursville is a borough in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, USA, on the east bank of Loyalsock Creek and part of the Williamsport metropolitan area. It is named for Andrew Montour, a French and Native American interpreter and negotiator. Summers are warm and humid and winters are cold and snowy, so late spring and early autumn are the best seasons to race.
