Middleport is a village on the eastern edge of Niagara County in western New York, mostly within the Town of Royalton, and it sits on the Erie Canal as a port. It had 1,729 residents at the 2020 census and is part of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area. At this latitude winters are cold and snowy while summers are warm and humid, so late spring and early autumn are the best seasons to race.
