Along the way runners will be treated to deep gorges, scenic overlooks, and rocky outcroppings, completing what many consider the hardest half marathon in Ohio.
5 mile runners will complete a course of pure singletrack, partly along the lake, getting a slightly smaller dose of what the half marathoners receive.
The half marathon runs along single-track trails, taking in views and traversing into the rugged and remote Zaleski State Forest. The 5 mile course is pure singletrack, partly along the lake.
Starting in 2025 the Start/Finish location moved from where the race started in 2014-2024. The new location is still in Lake Hope State Park, and the majority of the 13.1 mile course is the same. However, it alters the original course and some race details you may be used to if you participated between 2014 and 2024.
