Dirty Soles Adventures presents Mystery Miles: A Dice Run, a trail race where the course is known, the finish line is known, and your actual race distance remains a mystery until moments before the start.
Every runner is guaranteed one lap. Everyone registers for the same event, gets the same roll, and discovers the day's challenge at the same time.
This is a trail race, so forget about perfectly measured road-race distances. Expect natural surfaces, changing terrain, roots, gravel, dirt, hills, and whatever else Buck Spring Park decides to contribute that day.

The course
The race takes place on a mile-ish trail loop at Buck Spring Park. Every runner is guaranteed one lap. About 30 seconds before the start, the Race Director rolls two four-sided dice (2d4) and the result is added to that first lap. There are no separate distance options.
