All three races start from Ting Park at the North Main Athletic Complex. Runners begin just outside the stadium with a fast downhill start onto Sportsmanship Way and approach N. Main St. After crossing Main St., all runners face the rolling hills of Anchor Creek on the first mile before reaching the entrance to Middle Creek Greenway. The Half Marathon heads south through neighborhoods and the historic district into Womble Park, then runs along the greenway before returning to Anchor Creek Way. The 10K and 5K use the greenway with turn-arounds at Sunset Lake.
From the Anchor Creek entrance, Half Marathon runners head south through the neighborhoods of Bridgewater, Windcrest, Sunset Ridge, Veterans Park and Jones Park, then through the historic district and down Main St. into Womble Park.
A figure-eight loop through Womble Park brings runners back along the same route to the entrance of Middle Creek Greenway at about mile 7.2. The next 5 miles are along the greenway, with turn-arounds at both ends, before rejoining Anchor Creek Way for the last mile to the finish line.
The 10K and 5K courses enter Middle Creek Greenway from Anchor Creek Way just short of mile 1. At the junction of the access ramp, the 10K makes a hairpin right turn and first heads south along Middle Creek to the aid station near the Wood Creek development for a turn-around, then returns north to the next turn-around at Sunset Lake Road.
The 5K course also heads down the access ramp to the greenway, but first heads north to the turn-around at Sunset Lake. Both courses turn around at Sunset Lake and return south to the junction, then up the ramp back to Anchor Creek Way for the last mile to the finish line.
