The Thanksgiving Walk of Awareness helps ACCESS Soup Kitchen & Men's Shelter provide food, supplies, services and shelter throughout the year for those in need and brings awareness to homelessness.
This is the ministry's largest fundraiser of the year. Registration before the day of the event is $30; registration on the day of the event is $35.
Starts: Thu, Nov 26 · 8:00 AM
We hope this event will become part of your Thanksgiving Day celebration and remind you of all for which we can be grateful. Your support assists in making it possible to address needs in our community. THANK YOU!
To be guaranteed a T-shirt, you must be registered by November 9th, 2026. T-shirts are distributed the morning of the walk at the VFW facility.
Submit photos of your walk to [email protected]. Submitting photos and taking part in the walk gives ACCESS permission to post them on its website and/or Facebook page.
Walk the actual route. Because of the closure of the Singing Bridge, this year's walk begins at VFW Post 4075, 104 E 2nd Street, Frankfort, KY. It heads down Capital Avenue, around the Capitol, back down Capital Avenue, and ends at the ACCESS facility.
Walk the route on your exercise equipment, around your neighborhood, or at a location of your choosing.
Frankfort, Michigan, is a small town on the shore of Lake Michigan in Benzie County, beside Betsie Bay, with sandy beaches, dunes and forest. The climate is cool continental with a lake influence: summers (June to August) are mild and the lake is cold, autumn is crisp and colourful, winters (December to February) are cold and snowy, and spring is slow to warm. Late spring to early autumn is the best time to race. Traverse City airport is about an hour away by road.
