City insight: Downey
Downey is a city in southeastern Los Angeles County, California, United States, about 13 miles (21 km) southeast of downtown Los Angeles, and is part of the Gateway Cities. It is the birthplace of the Apollo space program and Taco Bell, and it is home to the oldest operating McDonald's in the world. Southern California has a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters, so spring and autumn are the best seasons to race.
