Dallas Buzz: The Bee Happy 5K-10K
About the race
The Bee Happy 5K is a fun-filled morning of running, laughter, community, and yellow, cheerful costumes in Dallas, Texas.
It welcomes seasoned runners, first-time 5K participants, and anyone looking for a fun Saturday morning.
A DJ will keep the energy high throughout the morning.
Race festivities
Participants can expect awesome medals, cool tees, high-energy staff, live awards and race trophies.
- Snacks and refreshments are available at the race rally tent when you finish.
- The DJ will announce every runner, and all award winners will be recognized.
- Aid stations on the course provide water and assistance.
- All finishers of all distances receive a medal and shirt.
Costume contest
The contest invites runners to dress in a creative, colorful, bee-inspired or happiness-themed costume, such as bees, flowers, honeycombs, sunshine, butterflies or garden characters.
The winner receives a "Queen Bee" Trophy and a prize pack that includes:
- A certificate for 2 free future races
- A $40 gift card
- A race swag pack
- The title of best dressed

- 1st Overall M/F Masters age 40+: Special Recognition Award Lanyard Pin
Age groups 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60+ (M/F): 1st Gold, 2nd Silver and 3rd Bronze Award Pin.
Race schedule
- 7:30–8:40 AM: Packet pickup, ends 20 minutes after the race.
- 8:50 AM: Kids Dash. Meet at the Start Line and we will walk participants out to the starting area.
- 9:00 AM: National Anthem and Race Start.
Results and awards are live at the Registration Tent immediately following your finish.
Packet pickup
Packet pickup is the evening before and available 2 hours before the race start. The packet pickup location will be emailed to all registered participants at least 1 week before the race.
Shirt guarantee
The shirt guarantee cutoff is 10 days before the event. After that date, if shirts are still available, this page will be updated with a notification at the top of this listing, including size availability and quantity if applicable.
Cancellation policy
Athletes can cancel their registration, but no refund is given.
Refunds are not allowed for this race. Contact the organizers to transfer your registration to Virtual, another event at another date or city, or to a friend.

Dallas is a large city in north Texas, with a big running scene and trails around White Rock Lake. The climate is humid subtropical: summers (June to September) are very hot, autumn is warm and pleasant, winters (December to February) are mild with occasional cold snaps and ice, and spring is warm with a risk of severe storms. Spring and autumn are the best seasons for racing, with early starts in summer. Dallas has two major airports.
