Thanksgiving Morning
Thursday November 26, 2026
8am race start
Awards will be presented to top finishers in each category, and families and walkers are encouraged to register. The race will start at 8am on Thanksgiving morning.
Racers can check in and pick up bibs at the Castleton Recreation Center (47 Mechanic St.) starting at 6:45am.
Advanced online registration is preferred. Registration is available from 6:45-7:30am the day of the race for $5 more than the base online price.
On-street parking is available on Main St. in the Castleton Village.
The race starts with a mass start in the heart of the village on Main St. at the intersection with Mechanic St., heading west. After a left onto South St., the course uses the Rail Trail before heading back to the village on Main St.
The course is extremely flat. The Rail Trail in Castleton is gravel and most larger wheeled running strollers could easily manage the surface.
This is the same course as 2025.
Castleton is a town in Rutland County, Vermont, USA, about 15 miles west of Rutland and 7 miles east of the New York state border. It is home to a campus of Vermont State University. The climate has cold, snowy winters and mild summers, so late spring, early summer and early autumn are the best seasons to race.
