The Aga Khan Foundation is a leading global development organization working to address the root causes of poverty. For more than 50 years, AKF has helped create strong community institutions that support sustainable, locally-driven initiatives to improve the quality of life for millions of people, irrespective of their place of origin, faith, or gender.
The Walk & Run has supported that work for over 25 years. Since 1995, more than 500,000 participants across major U.S. cities have raised over $63 million.
Exhibits at the event showcase the Foundation's work on global challenges, and there is something to see for every age.

Atlanta is the capital of Georgia, USA, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains at about 1,050 feet, with rolling hills and dense tree cover. It has a humid subtropical climate with generous rain all year: summers are hot and humid, with 90 F (32 C) reached on about 47 days a year, and winters are mild but variable, with about 36 freezing nights and occasional light snow. Spring and autumn are the best seasons to race. Summer needs heat and humidity precautions. Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the world's busiest by passengers, serves the city.
