What is the Tour of Nilgiris?
The Tour of Nilgiris (TFN) is a multi-day supported cycling expedition across South India. The 2026 edition is the 17th and covers 700 km over 7 riding days from Mysuru to Ooty.
How difficult is TFN?
TFN is one of Asia’s toughest cycling tours. With 13,500m+ of climbing across 7 days and high-altitude stages in the Nilgiri Hills, it demands solid base fitness and prior multi-day riding experience. It is not a beginner-friendly event.
What is included in TFN registration?
Full logistics support, safety crew, hospitality, and accommodation are included. Participants focus on riding — everything else is managed by the organising team.
What kind of bike do I need for TFN?
A road bike or endurance bike is recommended. Given the high climbing volume and mixed road surfaces through forest zones, compact gearing is strongly advised.
How do I get to the start in Mysuru?
Mysuru is ~150 km from Bengaluru and well connected by road and rail. Most participants travel to Bengaluru and drive or take a train to Mysuru. Nearest airport is BLR (Kempegowda International, Bengaluru).
